1. Starbucks

For instance, this ad for Starbucks aims to thank customers who wear masks in their stores. But they didn’t stop at that. Instead, they injected humor to make the ad more interesting. In place of the regular customer name, the label on the cup reads, “Mmphfffh,” a muffled sound you’d most likely hear from someone wearing a mask. 

2. Call of Duty

This ad for Call of Duty is one of those ad writing examples that aims to spark interest among the cold audience. The franchise’s most recent title, “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,” was released in 2020. To attract attention to the game, the copywriter focused on a historical event most people are familiar with. 

3. Burger King

To help small businesses wade through the financial impact of the coronavirus disease pandemic, Burger King Belgium launched its Whopper And Friends campaign during the Holiday season of 2020. This entailed offering their Instagram account and even the services of their community manager to independent restaurants. This Facebook ad post made the offer clear while keeping it funny and light.

4. Vipp

With the company being known for its iconic bin, the marketing creatives released this ad when the US presidential election winner was announced. In addition to the succinct copy, the ad also featured a visual design that doubled as face masks and a gag that impedes one’s ability to speak up.

15. Tusker

Effective ad writing doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll always need to conform to existing standards within an industry. For instance, most beer ads focus on boosting masculinity by embodying the macho-man stereotype. This ad for Tusker, however, goes against the grain. Instead of feeding the male ego, it advocates women and encourages men to treat them as equals. As a result, it resonates better and stands out from its competitors’ ads.
